For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are SONS of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the SPIRIT OF ADOPTION by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.. - Romans 8:14-16

Mary was the Mother of Jesus. When Jesus came He taught us how to pray to the Father. We pray to God the Father in Jesus’ name and through Jesus’ sacrifice to cover our sins and to make us right with a Holy God.Let me clear something up.
We don’t worship her. We venerate her as the Mother of God. We pray for her intercession to Jesus because He will not refuse a request made of him by his Mother. We believe she was born and died without sin. But we do not…
To answer both questions, we know that she was sinless because of how the Archangel Gabriel addresses her in Luke (1:28) he calls her “highly favored”, and we (as Catholic’s and Christian’s) realize that this makes her full of grace. Grace is what we (as humans) receive from God and keep us sinless- when we do sin though, we are forgiven and our grace is replenished (and outwardly shown by sacraments). So we can deduce that if an angel tells Mary that she’s full of grace and highly favored, then we better get with the program and think the same thing.
The simple truth about it is, you can’t believe that Mary was a sinner. I mean, I guess you could, but that doesn’t make much logical sense. SHE WAS THE MOTHA OF THE LORD MOST HIGH. Think about this for a second, she had GOD in her womb for 9 months. I for one hope she was sinless because if she had the God of the universe in her womb and was capable of sinning/retaining sin there is something messed up here.
Also, make sure to note Luke 1:46 where Mary gives her canticle to the Lord. In 1:48 it says “behold; from now on all nations will call me blessed”. More than this, Mary also makes note of how God is her Savior and how He has shown her mercy. As far as the question about intercession, if we only need the Holy Spirit to intercede then why ask a friend to pray for you? Why ask your pastor? Why ask your parish? Does it not also say in scripture that we should pray for and support one another as saints?
Furthermore we have know that saints (those souls who have gone on to heaven) have personal connection with God, and that they are in His holy presence. So why not ask our homies in heaven to put a good word in with the big guy? And if we’re going to ask them to pray for us, why not ask His very mother to give us a leg up? You love your momma, right? And Jesus loves his motha, so He’s bound to listen to her and what she thinks. So why not ask Mary to pray for us? I mean it’s not like it’s gonna hurt, right?I see what you’re saying Will. I have to respectfully disagree. I mean, grace is a gift, unearned, undeserved and unmerited favor of God. We need it daily. What Mary had was a gift as well. She didn’t earn it, otherwise it would no longer be Grace (unearned, undeserved, unmerited favor of God). We don’t have this favor because of what anyone tells us (angelic or human), but by what Jesus gave us. When we receive the word of God (Mary received His word in Luke 1:38), we receive incorruptible seed and He lives and abides forever because of Jesus and nothing we can do can corrupt that seed. [If you’re in doubt or unbelief you don’t receive the seed, and if you’re going by the traditions of men you don’t receive the seed, or else it would be growing, living and abiding and producing fruit] (1 Peter 1:23 “having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever” John 1:1+14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”)
We see the goodness of God being displayed all through out the New Testament, many people were healed and every one of them sinners. Sin never stops someone from receiving what God has for us, or else it would have stopped us from receiving Christ to be born again. Now, I see what you’re saying for Mary to have been pregnant with the Lord of the Universe and sin would be absolutely wrong and mind boggling. When you truly receive the gift of His Grace, you don’t desire to sin anymore, it doesn’t mean the devil doesn’t try to tempt you. The word does make it very clear though that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Everyone. (Romans 3:21-24 “But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”) Mary believed the word she received, her faith was credited to her as righteousness much like Abraham and his descendants. (Romans 4:5-16)
As far as intercession, yes we only need the Holy Spirit to pray for others. If we are praying for people it’s because they misplaced their faith (they can’t be lacking in faith because we’ve all been dealt the same measure, and if faith is like a muscle some have become Rambo’s and others a Barney Fife) and they need help. If salvation is the greatest miracle, then we should have enough faith for raising the dead. However, some people have more faith in the enemy’s ability to get them sick or something to happen to them than in God’s ability to keep them. That’s why we pray for them, we extend a hand and speak life into them whether it’s encouragement, the prayer of faith for them to be made whole (and IF they sinned for sins to be forgiven as freely as we have been forgiven), and general communication with the Father and building our relationship with Him. Our ability to pray is a gift through Jesus Christ, our prayers are heard because of Him. The disciples knowing Jesus knew He was big on prayer, and of all the things to ask Him to teach them they specifically asked Him to teach them how to pray and He used parables to teach them to have faith in the Father’s goodness while they pray. (Luke 11:1-13 “One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say: ” ‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”Then he said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.’ “Then the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man’s boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”) Jesus of course firstly directed their focus to the Father. If the focus isn’t on the Father (I say this very respectfully, though it may come across as sharp to some it’s not meant that way), we are at danger of worshiping idols. Our communication should not be with the “dead”, though they are alive in Christ in Heaven, but rather the Living Word who lives and abides in us by the Holy Spirit with open communication to the Father. We have favor because of Jesus, our prayers are answered because of Him, and the goodness and righteousness of the Father seeing our every sin imputed to Christ on the cross we’ve been judged for it so by faith in Christ we are righteous and our prayers answered. No need for a leg up we can’t get any higher than seated in Christ in Heavenly places.
I see your heart bro, I know where you’re coming from, I just simply disagree. Be blessed bro, have a very Merry Christmas! *Huggles*
We don’t pray to Mary or in Marys’ name because she didnt’ die to make us blameless nor could she. HOWEVER, she was blessed and highly favored of God. Let me make two points.
1) No one would have ever known who Mary was if it had not been for the favor of God. God put His super on her natural which is what made her known. King David, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ruth, Esther, Deborah…all the great ones of the Bible we read about were ordinary people that God chose to favor and put His super on their natural. Meaning God +any human being is a majority and can do great exploits because of the favor of an Almighty God. “IF God be for us who can be against us?”
2)The most profound of all messages in the Bible and the key to seeing the hand of Almighty God move in any given situation is what Mary said to the servants at the wedding feast when they ran out of wine. We know the story as Jesus’ first miracle performed.
What did Mary say?
Whatever He tells you to do just do it!
GRACE! His grace and mercies are new every morning. Come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace (Gods power) for each day of your journey.Calm down. Take ten steps back from the knife, the lighter, or the mirror. Turn on your iPod, lay on the floor, and take more deep breaths. You are worth more than this, you can be more than this. This does not have control over you. You are the one who will form your own destiny, your own pathways through life. Don’t let shit tie you down, or break your heart. It’s okay to cry. Breathe again. You’re alive and wonderful.

If we Love God and Love people we keep the other 10 commandments.“Love God. Love People. is a return to a simple, foundational Gospel command: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself,” says Israel. “Virtually every song touches on this profound simplicity. It all comes down to ‘Love God, love people.’ Period.”
Amen! Yup!
I love you Brady! You’ll be in my heart.

Chances are you’re disgusted, regardless of your views on faith.
I just looked her up… She’s actually real, you guys. Especially to my fellow believers, pray for this young lady. One of her status recently states that she thinks she might have been wrong to have the abortion and that she prayed to Jesus for the first time in her life.
Pray for her, regardless of what you think of her actions. She is a child just as loved by the Savior of the universe. He is maddeningly trying to rescue her through all the noise that is in her life! Help be the children who move the Spirit to break into her heart!!!
Praying!
I too had an abortion at a younger age for several reasons one of which was I didnt think I could carry it to full term. My husband and I were having marital problems and I already had one child and couldnt see a way to take care of two.
When I had the abortion I began to have panic attacks and my insides were screaming “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!” I murdered an unborn child. I’ve sent a living breathing human being to their death and they probably went to hell. WHAT HAVE I DONE!?
I would also suggest to read “Close Encounters of the God Kind.” by Jesse Duplantis
In it are his encounters of a thrid heaven experience and seeing all the children in heaven he turned to one of the angels and asked him, “What are all these babies and young children doing here?” The angel turned to him and said,”These are the ones the earth didnt want.”
You see God is a good God. He took them to heaven to live and mature and grow in the knowledge of Him and to be told the gospel story and to have the chance to choose for themselves.
They know who their earthly mother and father are. IF you are borne again you will see them in heaven one day.
That helped me tremendously to forgive myself and ask God for forgiveness and let Him heal those hurts.
Murder Begins in the Heart
21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder,[a] and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause[b] shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. 26 Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.
Adultery in the Heart
27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old,[c] ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

When we’re sick, we confess we’re healed.
When we’re poor, we confess we’re rich.
Why then, when we sin, we confess our sins?
Don’t confess your sins, confess your righteousness!
FAITH puts no limit on GOD.But, GRACE puts no limit on MANWhen you see His GRACE, God sees your FAITH
We confess our sins because He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us of ALL unrighteousness. If we could cleanse ourselves HE wouldnt of had to die on the cross.
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
1John 1:9-10 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
After we have confessed our sins to HIm and we are cleansed then YES by all means confess we are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus Our Lord! Amen Hallellujah!
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
1Cr 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Phl 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
2Pe 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
We come to Him with our problems and our needs. Confessing that we have a need for provision of healing, strength and prosperity. I used to get so upset in the “faith” movement because they taught us to put on a “church face” and say everything is fine when it wasnt.
God through Jesus Christ our Lord wants to have a REAL relationship with us. In Christ we have all we need. It is ok to say I doubt. It is ok to say I hurt; it is ok to say Im sick; it is ok to say I’ve sinned. Bring all of it to Jesus and to the Father just as you are. And tell Him you want a real relationship with the Father. Knowing that HE that begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Phl 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word.Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
We read His word and we confess our needs to HIM and to one another and pray for one another.
Jam 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Luk 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
When God speaks a rhema word to you He expects you to use that word He gave you to speak to your lack or circumstances…knowing that HE that begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Phl 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
We read the end of the book WE WIN!!! WE read the gospels and know that Jesus said “it is finished.” We know before we ever had a need He provided the answer.
But how will we know Him as savior if we never acknowledge our sins? How will we know Him as healer if we never tell Him we are sick. How will we know Him as provider if we never tell Him we are poor.
It’s ok to tell Him our needs. How can we know Him if we don’t acknowledge that we cant “fake it til we make it.” We want something real a real relationship with Him. He loves you just as you are and He loves you enough not to leave you the same way you came to Him.
Phl 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Yes after you have come to Him by all means confess and agree with the Word of the Living God and say what He says and do what He does.
Jhn 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Don’t ever try this until you have first come to Him acknowledging your needs first and have a relationship with Him. We arent robots we are people formed in His likeness.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Jhn 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Just be the best you that you can be and let Him be Him in you as you abide in Him.
Jhn 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give [it] you.
